Dedicated in 1985, this 2.5-acre area of the park is a memorial to musician John Lennon, who was murdered nearby on December 8, 1980.

As a memorial to John Lennon, Strawberry Fields symbolizes his lifelong campaign for peace. A black-and-white mosaic says “Imagine” in its center and is designated as Central Park’s quiet zone.

Although it can be touristy, I as a Staten Island NY native enjoy the Imagine Circle John Lennon tribute! Wonderful & peaceful place to relax. You'll often be lucky to listen to The Meetles nearby. :)

Beautiful even in winter. Even more beautiful idea by Yoko Ono with all those plants dedicated from around the world. An incredible tribute.

Central Park is just beautiful. This is a nice spot to check out. Better in the daytime though. It pays homepage to John Lennon. Where he used to live and where he died is just around the corner.

If you enter from East 72nd street, this's one of the first things you will see. In memory of John Lennon, many fans pay their respects here daily. Donations for flowers r accepted.Let it BE forever!
